Mission Statement
The Gaia Coalition Network aspires to unify and build a growing community of environmental, civil rights and other non-profit organizations along with concerned individuals that advocate for social equality and environmental justice and strive to protect the land community and all members of the Earth’s natural ecosystems.
History & Philosophy
We are a collective network of Wisconsin’s local businesses, student organizations, environmental and social justiceĀ organizations, artists/musicians, scientists, professors, and concerned citizens.
The Gaia Coalition Network was officially created in early 2017, after several months in the developing stage, leading up to a supply run by one of the networks coalition groups, the UW-Waukesha Ecology Club, to Standing Rock, ND.
The Gaia Coalition Network is aimed at bringing together all members of the community, local businesses, student organizations, universities, non-profits, and both environmental and civil rights groups, to create a unified and collaborative effort.
We want to bridge the gap between the social and ecological movements in Wisconsin, and provide a format for already pre-existing groups, and newly found or emerging groups to be able to work together.
Our principles follow the concept of PULSE: Preservation, Unity, Liberty, Sustainability, and Equality, and for however broad–or even vague–our mission may present itself in words alone, our goal is to reestablish the connection between humans–with humans–and the natural world.
We do our best to remain non-partisan in nearly all of our events and advocacy, however we do take a stance when it comes to policy. Things need to change. The direction we’re heading is aimed at a contradicting and dangerous future, both for humanity and for our planet.
